Blacking out, blinded by love.

cj’s proposal to bri was nothing short of magical. from one surprise to the next, he had the day planned to a t for over a month - coordinating with bri’s closest friends & loved ones from far and wide to put together the most memorable surprise engagement. 💍

when cj and i first connected, i was in awe of his detailed planning. he drew a map of exactly where him & bri would walk in from, the backdrop of where the proposal would be on the rooftop of her parents’ west village apartment building, how i’d sneak downstairs and catch her reaction to seeing her family, who’d handle the dress options for her to change into, how much time the family photos would take, and how we’d coordinate surprising her at a bar across town.

in the heat of the moment, the proposal plan went right out the window. cj was so overwhelmed by joy and jitters that he fell to one knee the minute he got up onto the roof. it didn’t matter where he was, it just mattered that he’d made it up there together with bri. sometimes things don’t go according to plan, and that’s exactly how i like to photograph people & their most precious moments :)

the rest of the surprises went off without a hitch. cj + bri had the most incredible, genuine spirits. so many people were a part of pulling this off, and i’m honored to have been the one to capture it all. there is something especially poignant about a holiday engagement; yesterday was full of such a unique joy, warmth, and love. cheers to this new chapter!!! 🌹🥂🎄♥️
